Here’s a book we did for the holidays featuring hand made illustrated Christmas cards that were created by Patricia’s Grandmother. A trained and accomplished artist and theatre set designer, Allice (Allie) MacKenzie designed, illustrated and printed Christmas cards for friends and family each year from 1925 until a few years before her death in the late 1980’s.

The cover of the book used elements from Allie’s cards and other works and is in keeping with the aesthetic that she used at the time. Although that changed considerably both after the death of her husband Hugh in 1963, and again in the last few cards. Over 30 examples of Allie’s cards are reproduced in the book.
